The global commercialization of space, often referred to as New Space, has increased the demand for alternative launch facilities in countries without their own space centers. Floating spaceports in the sea, equipped with micro launchers, are an option. But tools are needed to ensure safety and also guarantee no stakeholders in the launch area are affected.
Octave partner GEOSYSTEMS GmbH developed a customized 4D real-time application for critical missions as an internal proof of concept. This application – built with Alto Browser – covers all phases of a rocket launch mission. That includes the planning phase, mission control during the launch and also post-mission analysis.
GEOSYSTEMS developed the solution using Octave’s Alto technology. It can integrate and review data from various sources, identify launch areas via simulation, manage activities and analyze post-launch scenarios. Alto technology provided real-time location intelligence, situational awareness and connections to multiple databases via its SDK, which includes real-time data aligned with domain-specific standards.
The high performance of Alto Browser, coupled with the efficient and agile implementation by GEOSYSTEMS, facilitated seamless integration of all data relevant for a safe operation.
“The demo system from GEOSYSTEMS has proven to be exceptionally beneficial for us. It allows us to optimally visualize our highly innovative projects in the space industry. The seamless integration of diverse data sources, the incredibly fast and agile execution by the GEOSYSTEMS team and the exceptional performance of Alto have truly impressed us.”
