Huntsville, Alabama - Octave Intelligence plc (Nasdaq: OCTV), a global leader in software for the world’s mission-critical facilities and infrastructure, announced that the German State of Hesse implemented Next Generation (NG) eCall powered by Octave's Unified Communications Radio Suite (UCRS).
NG eCall helps protect the state’s 6.4 million residents. It runs over 4G and 5G networks, replacing legacy 2G/3G eCall technology. UCRS has supported Hesse's Patronus emergency communications network since 2016 and is the foundation for the upgrade.
With statewide NG eCall, Hesse's emergency services can receive crash data faster and more reliably over modern mobile networks ahead of the sunset of cellular technologies.
The statewide Patronus network supports 26 fire service control centers, an emergency response center and specialized training and test facilities at the Hesse State Fire School. It connects professional and volunteer fire brigades statewide, including in Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt and Kassel. UCRS lets emergency teams communicate across radio, telephone and data channels from a single environment.
Hesse has extended its agreement with Octave through 2032. Octave will continue to develop, install and maintain the Patronus ecosystem.
