South Korean power producer establishes the digital foundation for AI-driven maintenance, operational optimization and future AI-ready power plant operations
SEOUL, South Korea – Octave Intelligence plc (Nasdaq: OCTV), a global leader in software for the world’s mission-critical facilities and infrastructure, announced today that Naepo Green Energy, a South Korean power generation and district heating operator, has deployed Octave's Attune EAM solution to digitalize its power plant operations and maintenance processes and strengthen equipment reliability.
Naepo Green Energy is focused on delivering safe, reliable and sustainable energy to support Korea’s growing power needs. As part of this mission, the company recognized the need to modernize the way operational information is managed across the business. Like many power generators, it faced challenges associated with fragmented data spread across multiple systems, manual processes and limited visibility across maintenance, operations, safety and materials management.
To overcome these challenges, Naepo Green Energy embarked on a digital transformation program centered on Octave Attune EAM, which stands for Enterprise Asset Management. By establishing a unified environment that connects critical operational and asset information, Attune provides a single source of truth across the organization. This enables teams to work more efficiently, improve reliability and workforce productivity, and create a stronger foundation for AI-driven insights and future innovation.
Historically, maintenance records, operational logs and materials information were managed across spreadsheets, documents and siloed systems, limiting visibility and making knowledge transfer and collaboration more difficult. Manual, paper-based workflows for work permits, safety approvals and maintenance processes further increased administrative burden across the plant.
To modernize operations and support future innovation, Naepo Green Energy implemented Attune EAM to create a single, integrated asset management environment. Attune EAM standardizes work requests, work orders and preventive maintenance activities, while centralizing equipment, inventory and operational information across the organization. Real-time tracking of generation performance, digital logging and incident reporting capabilities have also enhanced operational visibility.
"Across the energy sector, AI has become a strategic priority. However, AI is only as effective as the quality and accessibility of the operational data behind it," said Soojin Ahn, Head of Octave Korea. "By establishing a connected digital foundation, Naepo Green Energy is creating the conditions required for predictive maintenance, operational optimization and the next generation of AI-ready power plant operations."
The transformation has already delivered meaningful operational improvements, including the transition from paper-based processes to digital workflows, automated capture of maintenance history and the creation of a single source of truth across maintenance, operations and materials management teams. Attune EAM also provides a foundation for more data-driven decision-making and improved asset reliability.
Looking ahead, Naepo Green Energy plans to further advance its digital transformation strategy through enterprise system integration, expansion of asset management capabilities to fuel cell and district heating infrastructure, and the adoption of AI-driven operational strategies leveraging accumulated plant data. The organization's long-term vision includes intelligent predictive maintenance models and advanced operational optimization capabilities that support the evolution toward a fully digital, AI-ready smart power plant.
"The most important goal of this project was to establish a maintenance management system optimized for our operations," said Joo Woo-cheol, Deputy Manager, Instrumentation Team, Naepo Green Energy. "By standardizing and digitalizing our processes, we have created a strong foundation for improving reliability and efficiency. Going forward, we will further enhance our asset management environment through ERP integration and AI-based operations."
Industry experts increasingly recognize structured operational data as a prerequisite for AI adoption in asset-intensive industries. By replacing fragmented processes with connected asset intelligence, organizations can move beyond reactive maintenance approaches and build the foundations for predictive, data-driven operations. Naepo Green Energy's initiative demonstrates how Korean energy providers can take practical steps today to prepare for the next wave of AI transformation.
