Project summary
In 2016, a Tier 1 North American shipbuilder and fabricator reached an important milestone in its multibillion-dollar project by choosing Octave solutions for steel cutting.
This project involved the production of six ships, the first to be delivered in 2018.
These ships are capable of sea-borne surveillance and of moving through icy Arctic waterways. Each ship is more than 100 meters long and armed with remote-controlled machine guns. This project is expected to increase security and help boost the economy.
Our solution
Cutting steel is an important milestone in any marine project since it means meeting a payment schedule. Forte 3D and Octave schematics capabilities were used for the detailed design. The production planning and engineering was prepared with Forte 3D as well. OnSite Production Planning was used to manage the shop floor as well as the NC machine interaction forfull automation.
