From MedaiForm" Pioneer has recently announced a "firmware bug" whereby the Pioneer DVR-A03, DVR-103, DVR-A04, and DVR-104 DVD-R/RW drives may be permanently damaged if 4x DVD-R media is used. In order to correct this potential hazard, should someone mistakenly use the new 4x media, Pioneer has released two firmware updates, one for the A03/103 and one for the A04/104. To determine which firmware is currently installed in the drive(s) of your MediaFORM product: For Stand-alone duplicators including: QuadraPRO, CD-5400, CD-5908, and CD-5912 press the "6" key from SELECT COPY or COMPARE. Each drive, with its associated firmware revision level, will be displayed. For Scribe and Vantage systems: Click on the SETTINGS tab, then click on the HARDWARE FEATURES button. The installed drives with their associated firmware revision levels will be displayed. For the MediaFORM Director: Click on the RESOURCES tab and the installed drives with their associated firmware revision levels will be displayed. If your Drive is a DVR-A03/103, and is running firmware version 1.90 or higher, there is no need to upgrade. If your installed drive is a DVR-A04/104 and is running firmware version 1.32 or higher, there is no need to upgrade. Any drive with lower revision will need to be upgraded to avoid the damage that will be caused by the use of 4x media. As a convenience to our customers, MediaFORM is offering a factory upgrade service for a flat fee of $500 USD, regardless of the number of installed drives. To book an appointment to have your unit upgraded, contact MediaFORM technical support at 610-458-9200 or send an email to support@mediaform.com For more information, read below or follow this link to Pioneer's web site: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/hs/ back to content CD Copy Master Update: "Copy Master has 80 GB Hard Drives!" In early December Octave increased the size of the hard drive on the Copy Master from 40 GB to 80 GB. This advance means on the CD version 73 CD images can be stored on the hard drive. On the DVD version 14 images can now be stored on the hard drive. This was all done without increasing the price! NOTE: Hard Drive is not available on the one-to-one's
