A Few Words from the Editor: "Which duplicator is right for you?"
At Octave we live and breathe duplicators. The staff thinks about duplicators on their way to work, talk about them during lunch, and a few of us, names withheld, even dream about them. Too often we are reminded the general public does not really know about CD or DVD Duplicators let alone think about them.
The customers we talk to know they want to make many copies of one CD or DVD and they know it is taking them forever using one CD or DVD Burner attached to a PC. We receive the call and it is up to us to steer them to the right decision.
We have a set of stock questions most of our customers are asked. Here is a sample of a few of them.
Do you need CDs or DVDs duplicated? Or both? If it is just CDs do you anticipate needing to duplicate DVDs in the future?
What kind of volume do you expect? Think of it in terms of daily, weekly, and monthly.
How fast of a turn around will you need? If you need 100 CDs produced a week do you have the luxury of duplicating them all week or do you need them done in one hour.
When labeling your CDs or DVDs what is important? Do you need high-resolution graphics? Do you need longevity and durability?
Do you have a budget in mind? Have you given thought to the true cost of the machine? For example the labor to run it or not run it will affect the total cost of the unit.
There are many more. If you are in need of a duplicator we will have the right product for you. Give us a call and allow us to assist you in finding the right product for you.

CD Copy Master Update: "DVD Copy Master with Pioneer A05 introduced"
The DVD Copy Master with Pioneer A05 was introduced in January 2003. One DVD can be burned in approximately 15 minuets! It's two times faster than the previous model, a big improvement. On a 7 drive DVD Copy Master the throughput will be approximately 28 full DVDs an hour.

| Q: |
I need a DVD Burner that will burn faster than 4X. Do you sell such a thing? |
| A: |
No, currently the fastest available is 4X.

|
| Q: |
Will the DVDs produced by the duplicators be 100% compatible? If not, what solution is available to me?
|
| A: |
The DVDs produced will be about 90% compatible. Older DVD players may have a problem reading burned DVDs. A large majority of duplicators are using the Pioneer A04 or A05 burner. Compatibility is not a duplicator issue so much as it is a Pioneer issue. Other solutions: go to a duplication house to have pressed DVDs made.
