5.1 Q I would like to burn pictures scanned into either Photoshop, Microsoft Picture it, or Adobe Photoexpress, onto CD-ROMs. Do you have any experience loading some "picture viewer" software onto CDs so that the pictures (JPEG) can be viewed following Auto-Run?
  A

How or what you use to scan images should not make a difference. Once you get the images on to your hard drive, you will be fine. You will need a separate software package to use as a viewer. Windows XP has a built in picture viewer. Or try Picassa 2 from Google.

5.2 Q I want to know how to turn MP3s into CDs by using a CD-R drive without using wave files? What software will I need?
  A

You can copy MP3 files directly to a CD, but they will only play in MP3 CD players. Nero will copy MP3 files to a CD or alternatively convert them to regular audio CD format for you. Nero does that on the fly.

5.3 Q Does Nero 5.0 handle "normalizing" the volume level across audio source (i.e. .WAV, .MP3, etc.) files while recording? If so, does it do it on the fly?
  A

Yes, Nero 6.0 can normalize the sound level across different audio sources. Select all the tracks in the compilation that should have the same volume, click "Properties", then enable the "Normalize filter." This is in real time if the "Calculate audio filter on the fly" option is enabled in the Audio-CD property page of the compilation.

5.4 Q If I buy CD writing software, do I still need a burner or does the software turn my computer's CD-ROM drive into a burner?
  A

Sorry, no such luck. A CD-ROM drive is a READ ONLY MEMORY device while a CD Recorder is a writer and a reader. DVD-R/W will also burn CDs.

5.5 Q Can PQ Subcodes be edited with Nero Burning ROM 5.0?
  A

Yes, you can change pause length and add new index positions. What is currently not directly supported, is putting music in index 0 of audio tracks.

5.6 Q I have WAV files I want to convert into CDA, then record them on CD to listen to in my home stereo system. Is there a program that does this?
  A

Yes, Nero Burning ROM automatically converts WAV files to the CDA as it copies them to a CD-R.
