3.1 Q The audio tracks burnt onto CDs sometimes have PQ-encoded indices. The software we have been using does not copy the PQ indices from the original CD. Do you have CD recording software that replicates these PQ marks?
  A

Yes, NeroBurning ROM copies the P and Q indices from the original to the copy.

3.2 Q I use WinOnCD recording software. I cannot find the normalizer feature when making audio CDs. This feature is supposed to balance the volume level of all tracks in the project. Where is it?
  A

There is a feature on WinOnCD called maximize volume that would be considered a normalizer. It is located within the audio editor.

3.3 Q I am looking for a CD burner that will duplicate CD-R media that has been cut down in size to the shape of a business card. Do you have anything or know of anything that will burn media that is not contiguous in nature?
  A

Any of the CD recorders we sell will record the business card media that we also sell. Since CD-R disks are recorded from the hub outwards, there is no problem with just about any CD recording software also. The business card CD has two sides that are curved. They are essentially 8 cm round disks that are flat on two sides. The curved sides are very important - not only for recording, but also for playing back. If you look at the disk tray of a CD-R or CD-ROM, you will see two indentations. One is 12 cm in diameter and the other 8 cm. The business card CD rests in the inner indentation.

3.4 Q I am in the process of having a new computer built so that I will have the capability of copying my Karaoke CDs. No one I have spoken with appears to know much about the CD+G format. All attempts to copy so far have only yielded the music, not the written lyrics. Someone did tell me that they believed NERO BURNING was a software that would accomplish this task. What can you tell me about copying CD+G?
  A

You need several elements to copy Karaoke (CD+G) disks. The first is a reader that can read CD+G. Next you need a writer that can write CD+G and finally a software package that will control both. Nero will not copy CD+G but the Padus software package we carry will not only copy CD+G but also allow you to make your own CD+G compilation. The Yamaha and Plextor drives we sell will read and write CD+G. All can be found on our web site.

3.5 Q I have a huge collection of vinyl's, it is essential that I have a software program that can transfer vinyl's to MP3s. Can the Adeptec software version that I have do this or do I need to get a different type of software. What are other programs needed to get rid of 'pop & crackles?'
  A

To transfer audio from an outside source into your computer you can use the software that came with your sound card. It will allow you to record into what is known as .wav format. Once in your computer you can transfer to CD (using the Easy CD Creator that came with your Sony CDRW). However to convert to MP3 you need an encoder. Version 4 of Adaptec did not come with that. Nero software has a lot more capability than Easy CD Creator with a lot of features such as audio de click, filters, fade in and out etc etc. You can also buy the Fraunhofer MP3 encoder ($15) that will compress your .wav files by a factor of ten.
