Q |
Do you have software that can record audio CDs that
can play MP3s in a normal CD player? |
| |
A |
Yes, Nero Burning ROM allows you to take an MP3 file, which is automatically
converted by the software to CDA format, which is what an audio CD player
uses. It works great! |

Q |
Do you have software that will create video CDs in
so that they are playable on a DVD player on video CD player? |
| |
A |
Yes, Nero Burning ROM features Super Video CD: SVCD is an extension of
the VCD standard which uses MPEG-2 compression with variable bit rate
encoding, and also allows a bitrate that is twice that of VCD. Therefore,
SVCD also offers better image quality, although it means less total playing
time if the full bandwidth is used. At DVD quality, a SVCD can store up
to 35 minutes of video, compared to 70 minutes for VCD MPEG-1 quality.
Nero itself does not support encoding to MPEG. It requires MPEG files
that are already prepared for VCD or SVCD. This can be done with third-party
programs such as Ulead VideoStudio MPEG Encoder or Cyberlink PowerVCR
(only MPEG-1/VCD at the moment) or bbMPEG (both MPEG-1 and MPEG-2). Both
PAL and NTSC standards are supported.
Also, Adaptec EZ CD Creator contains Video CD Creator for burning video
CD's. Video CD Creator, with its wizards and intuitive interface makes
it a breeze to store MPEG video clips to CD in a format playable in Video
CD Players, DVD players and most multimedia computers. This is done with
a White Book standard of MPEG1 files only. AVI files can be converted
to MPEG1 for burning to CD. MPEG 2 files are not compatible at this time.

Q |
I am copying software and game CDs for personal use.
Most copy okay, but some have a ghost that does not make it onto the copy.
|
| |
A |
The "ghost" or watermark is a copy protection device put on
the source CD to keep you from copying it. Sorry, but we do not sell software
to circumvent copy protection! |

Q |
Is there software available that will create CDs in
the Kodak Photo CD format using bitmap images down-loaded from a Kodak DC-120
camera? |
| |
A |
According to the tech support and sales folk at Adaptec, EZ CD Creator
Deluxe supports PCD (Photo CD) format. Please note that this is the DELUXE
VERSION ONLY. The OEM version will not do PCD. The format is a hybrid of
the Yellow Book, Orange Book and CDROM/XA formats. Many of the modern CD
recorders will read such disks. |

tracks.
